Primary Year Program PYP (1~6학년)

1~6학년 대상 PYP는 8단계의 Academic Writing 프로그램을 통해, 논리적인 사고력과 창의력이 체계적으로 성장하는 과정 입니다.

유치부에서 올라온 아이들이 레벨의 어려움을 느끼지 않도록 General과 Academic의 비율을 절묘하게 조절하여 자연스럽고 체계적으로 레벨을 올려갑니다.

Grade 1

READING
Select information, ideas and events in texts that relate to their own lives and to other texts.
Use phonics and word knowledge to fluently read more complex words.
WRITING
Re-read and edit their writing, checking their work for appropriate vocabulary, structure and meaning. Demonstrate understanding of grammar, and choose vocabulary and punctuation appropriate to the purpose and context of their writing. Understand how language can be used to express feelings and opinions on topics.
SPEAKING
Contribute actively to class and group discussions, asking questions, providing useful feedback and making presentations. Use a range of texts for familiar and unfamiliar audiences. Understand how language can be used to express feelings and opinions on topics.
LISTENING
Listen to others’ views and respond appropriately using interaction skills. Understand how language features are used to link and sequence ideas.

Grade 2

READING
Fluently read texts that include varied sentence structures and unfamiliar vocabulary, including multisyllabic words. Explain how language features, images and vocabulary are used to engage the interest of audiences.
WRITING
Demonstrate understanding of grammar, select vocabulary from a range of resources and use accurate spelling and punctuation, editing their work to improve meaning. Use language features to create coherence and add detail to their texts. Understand how to express an opinion based on information in a text.
SPEAKING
Share key points in discussions.
Make presentations and contribute actively to class and group discussions, varying language according to context.

Reading을 위한 Reading이 아닌, 실제적인 결과물 (Output)인 Debating, Writing으로 전이되도록 브리튼만의 IOCS(Input to Output Conversion System)시스템으로 체계적인 수업을 진행합니다.

Grade 3

READING
Analyse and explain literal and implied information from a variety of texts. Encounter and decode unfamiliar words using phonic, grammatical, semantic and contextual knowledge.
WRITING

Writing에 특화된 브리튼의 수업은 꾸준히 원서를 읽고, 천천히 단계적으로 올라가는 8 Step의 커리큘럼 및 평가로 진행됩니다.
국제학교 필수 4대 Essay영역을 체계적으로 훈련하여 논리력을 향상시키며, IB에서 요구하는 Extended Essay (EE) Writing Task까지 대비 할 수 있도록 고안된 최상위 레벨을 위한 프로그램 입니다.

Grade 4

READING

PYP Grade 6 도달 시 수능 영어 이상의 Reading 실력과 이에 준하는 Speaking, Writing, Listening 실력을 갖추게 됩니다.
또한, 이에 도달하는 행복하고도, 꾸준한 모든 과정은 매 분기별로 국제공인 평가를 통해 객관적으로 검증되어 각 가정으로 리포트 됩니다.

Grade 6

READING
Interpret texts, questioning the reliability of sources of ideas and information. Select evidence from the text to show how events, situations and people can be represented from different view.
